Update

I've either been out of town or studying for my exams, so I haevn't had time to update. But now, I should be able to update quite a bit today, but not for next week and the rest of this week.

I have not been able to clean my room much either, but I have cleaned the floor. Wait for it-There's carpet! I've officially become a Mahomie, even though I heard about Austin back when I heard about 1D, and I have been laughing at the media about Justin "retiring". He announced his retirement, then he tweeted "lol". It was deleted within 30 minutes. (I get text notifications, so I have proof it exists) That's how you know it's a prank. And he RT'd #pranksterontheloose.

My Christmas gifts included: 1D tickets, makeup, nail polish, books, and merchandise from thinkgeek. However, my Christmas is not over yet. I will post the remaining gifts when I update again. Let me know in the comments how your Christmas went.

Doctor Who 50th Day of the Doctor

It starts in less than 95 minutes, and the Google logo is even the Doctors in Minecraft form. Can I have a TARDIS that takes me to the 50th?? Why do Rose's eyes glow? It's not totally Bad Wolf glow, but it looks oh-so-similar. Which Doctor is the past? Present? Future? Is John Hurt's doctor just an aged 8? The prequel, The Night of the Doctor, was about the 8th, Paul McGann. I have questions, and the show has answers. What questions about today's episode?

Room Redo Week 1-Planning

I really need to redecorate my room. The furniture is 4 different finishes (cherry, white, oak, and birch), and still little girl esque. (I was 10, and this was just before I fell out of pink and into blue and lilac.)

I am still keeping my giant pink plush owl-it's special to me. However, I am planning on disposing of almost all the other *shudders* pink objects in my room. It's a mess and you don't need to see my outfit for tomorrow scattered about, along with many a book, so no before pictures until I decide to clean it entirely from top to bottom.

A Nice Chart type thing
Keep:
  • Bed and Dresser (the only matching furniture)
  • TV and DVD player-I do not care that they are pink. They work and I can drape them in amethyst or black cloth.
  • 2 quilts-I am getting a comforter, but my house gets freakishly cold in the winter.
  • Stereo and speakers
  • One Direction wall-It took an abundance of time and work. I'm not tearing it down yet.
  • Water color paintings and frames

Get Rid of:
  • White dresser-Although it holds my TV, it does not match my other furniture and it is old (I've had it since I was 6 or 7) and due to misuse (I was only a child, so don't go evaluating me) is in somewhat of a deteriorated state.
  • Entertainment center-it only holds my books, so I'm going to buy book shelves (furnituregothic.com)
  • Nightstand-The only piece of birch furniture IN THE HOUSE. Although it holds magazines (Seventeen, anyone?), my lamp, and a few various other items, my bed is too high for it and only went with my original bed, not my current one. Going to buy a new one, most likely from Furniture Goth.
  • Of course, the various trinkets of no use to me anymore and since I have no sisters, no use to my family either.
  • Maybe I will sell my hardcover books that I have 4+ copies of (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). I do not know how I came across this many...but I will keep at least one copy of each book, because if there is both hardcover and paperback, I will keep both.
  • All the clothes that are too little. I didn't completely get everything out last month (1 overflowing bag at my mom's, and God knows how much at my dad's)
Buy:
  • Beauty Storage Tray, from PB teen. $35. To be painted black
  • Beauty Storage Cup, PB teen, $12. Also will be painted black.
  • Plush speaker animal (penguin), PB teen, $79. It's a speaker for a phone or MP3 player. Even though it is not Gothic in any way, it is "me" and will be useful.
  • Gemma Floral reversible comforter in black, PB teen, $159
  • Flora felt pillow black, PB teen, $39
  • PB teen organic sheet set, lavender, PB teen, $109
  • Owl woodland creature, small, Pottery Barn, $39.50
  • small taper holder in silver, $29
  • Wolfram Dragons Wall shelf, Furniture Gothic, $139
  • Saltier Side Table, Furniture Gothic, Back Ordered
  •  Black tulle bed skirt
If you have any suggestions for Victorian or Medieval Gothic teen bedrooms, let me know. (I want the elegance of Victorian, but the dragons and castles of medieval Goth.)

Short Rant

So, I love Bastille and other Rock/Alternative artists that just now made Top 40 radio. I find it disappointing that pop is alt. If pop has become alternative, in fashion and  music, what is alternative? Granted, somethings are easier to find, examples are the top hat for Victorian goth, corsets, and Doc Martens, but I don't want to be remembered as a "hipster". My music, like Bastille, Lorde, Panic! at the Disco, the Cure, Pierce the Veil, and My Chemical Romance is now on Top 40 radio. (I refer to it as "my music" to differentiate between pop and most of what I listen to) Now, if the artist is coming to town, it's more likely to happen, but I am also less likely to get tickets. And it feels like the band is no longer my little secret.
I was writing this post when "Pompeii" was playing. Now, "Royals" is playing. I swear, alternative is losing the alternative feel. I just want this to be over, like the rock scene with Nirvana back in the 90's (apparently that happened. I didn't experience it.)

Feel free to post your opinion below

Update

God, it's been so long since I've posted something. Well, it's been over a week. I try to post once a week, because that's all I have time for though.

I have a robotics competition in less than 12 hours. I'm so nervous. I'm not a driver, and I didn't really program anything, but I did vote on stuff, and help build part of the booth. Ugh. I just hope we do well.

Shopping Spree!

Last Saturday, my good friend Hailey and I went shopping together. She has more of a preppy style, whereas mine is more dark and alternative. Most of these items are mine, but some Hailey liked. I can't include pictures, because I forgot to save them to my laptop, but I will post descriptions and site/store name.

I do not see Hot Topic as a Goth store anymore, but it definitely has some clothes, especially around Halloween time, that are very Gothic. I do enjoy that you can actually see what you are wanting to look at, and it isn't all like OH-MY-GOD-SOMEONE-IS-THERE-WHAT-THE-F-I-CAN'T-SEE-ANYTHING-oh thank goodness, there's the cash regisiter and the exit. Ok, so it wasn't that bad, but I think I have conveyed my point.

Casual Fall Dance

My Beauty Routine

I've been seeing these posts pop up more and more on my favorite blogs, so I decided to join in.

Morning:
I only have about 30 minutes in the morning to get ready for school, so my morning routine is pretty basic.
1) Wash face with Neutrogena clear pore daily scrub.
2) Follow that with Neutrogena oil-eliminating astringent
3) I then use Neutrogena's oil-free sensitive skin moisturizer
4) After, I use ELF cream eyeshadow (White) as a highlighter, and also put some on dark under-eye circle.
5) Cover girl Clean foundation in ivory is then applied, but only where needed.
6) Maybelline Falsies washable mascara (the purple-pink tube) in blackish-brown coats my lashes. 3 coats on top, 1 on bottom lashes
7) Using detangler, I comb my hair.
9) I straighten my hair with my flat iron, but had to dispose of it, so now I blow dry the top layer straight at night. I then hairspray it in the morning. (My hair is chin length, so it's fairly manageable curls)
NOTE: I do this after getting dressed

Night:
1) After my shower, I use makeup remover and take off my makeup
2) I use the face wash before mentioned
3) Moisturizer is then applied
4) Comb and dry my hair, applying mousse if necessary

Currently Reading/Just Finished

Just Finished:
In the past week, I read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury in a day. Actually, 4 or so hours. I liked it, but I felt rather detached from the story, like when I tried reading Twilight. Yeah, not making that mistake again. Overall, I give the book 3/5 stars, because the writing style and themes are exceptional. In the past two days, I have read Divergent and Insurgent, both by Veronica Roth. I love reads that start off completely utopia, and quickly deteriorate into a dystopia. Can you say plot twist? There was probably a new one nearly every other chapter, but, especially if you watch BBC, you may figure some out before they happen. Fast paced, and a quick read, even though it's the size of a brick and has a higher level vocabulary. I finished each in less than 6 hours. (Actually finished Insurgent an hour ago) Her writing style is more similar to J.K. Rowling's than Suzanne Collins, but Veronica wrote the Divergent trilogy in first person. Also, you may experience slight emotional trauma. I give these books 4/5 stars, on average. I just don't like cliff hangers.

Currently Reading:
Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen. I just have no incentive to finish it, other than to finally watch the movie. I do like the book, I just find it kind of slow, for lack of a better word. Also, romance seems to be the main thing. I do read romance novels, but I was expecting something with a bit more substance. I'm about 2/3 of the way through now, and it seems to have lost all substance. Ugh. It's just a bit on the frustrating side. I'm hoping to finish it during my long weekend off from school, along with the next book, which has the same complaints as this one.
Emma, Jane Austen. See above for my complaints. 4/5 stars though, so far. Emma hasn't lost too much substance yet. More likely to finish than Pride and Prejudice.

Book Review-Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult

I stayed up last night to finish Sherlock season 2 and the book Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult. It was such a great read, and the transitioning to another character's perspective was smooth. It is a bit confusing, especially when you get about 1/4 through it, but it all fits together in the end. Plot twists and suspense are high in this book. So much is unexpected. I definitely recommened it. Only 400 pages though.

Wholock is Canon *Theory*

So, I was watching the Hound of the Baskervilles last night, and I noticed something-in reference to aliens, Lestrande (I believe. I just recently started watching, so I'm not sure of the exact person) said, "two. Crashed here in the '60s" when talking to Sherlock. And as all Whovians know, in "Blink", the Doctor and Martha are taken to 1969 due to the weeping angels. (Along with Sally Sparrow, but that was before the Doctor and Martha) What if the two aliens are the Doctor and Martha? Granted, maybe Amelia Pond went to the 60s at the end of Angels Take Manhattan, but I really doubt it. It wouldn't be the first time a Who reference shows up in Sherlock. I called my very Sherlocked friend, and she believes my theory could be true. I have not noticed ANY theory similar to it on pinterest or tumblr. The only Wholock reference in that episode I found through extensive Google searching was a possible TARDIS. WHAT IF? Feel free to repost as long as you credit me.  Thank you for reading my (fairly) short theory on Wholock canon.

Quick Question about cosplay

i was at camp last week, and didn't have decent Internet afterwards, so that is why I haven't posted anything lately. My apologies for any inconvenience.

My post instead:
So for Halloween this year, my friends and I are either going to be Doctor Who characters or Disney princesses. We wouldn't be planning ahead, but some of the costumes require actual work to be done if we so choose to be that character. So here are the outfits (not necessarily in the exact size):

The outfit on the LEFT is femme 11th Doctor. Photo credits: Google images

This is the tenth doctor. My friend is a girl and has longer hair than David, but I don't have pictures. picture credit to pinterest.com/webkinzforever/cosplay

And here is Rose Tyler. Sorry for the crappy quality. credit to Google images

and here are the Disney princesses. The exact ones will be decided later. photo credit to pinterest.com/webkinzforever/cosplay

the question:
Doctor Who or Disney?
